The Daily Substitute provides high-quality administrative support in place of an absent employee.  

 

Daily Substitutes are expected to be available 2-5 days per week and willing to be flexible in their assignment.  Daily assignments may vary depending on the district's needs with no guarantee of weekly hours.

 

Job Summary: The Substitute Clerical Position provides a high level of secretarial, administrative, and operational support to the Principal.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Holds high school diploma, advanced degree preferred;
  • Ability to navigate through various computer programs while multitasking and responding to school-based needs;
  • Works cooperatively and effectively in a team environment;
  • Ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies with minimal assistance;
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines promptly;
  • Possess knowledge of computers for word processing, data management, information retrieval, telecommunications, and database and spreadsheet programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite, Google Docs, and ASPEN;
  • MUNIS Financial Software experience preferred;
  • Good knowledge of spelling and grammar in the English language;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment to support daily operations;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively;
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children to effectively problem solve;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders;
  • Belief in the commitment to increasing personal growth, both academic and social-emotional, to obtain the highest level of achievement for every student.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, direct calls, and monitor visitors;
  • Schedule and screen appointments and communications;
  • May process timesheets, paycheck distribution for hourly staff, and stipend positions;
  • Direct communication with the public including parents, vendors, etc;
  • Direct access to the building through the secure entrance;
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of the role;
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal.

Terms of Employment/Salary/Work Year: $125 per day

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI before your start of employment. 

 

Daily substitutes are hired temporarily each year; there is no guarantee of continued employment beyond the school year.  Substitutes will be notified by July 15 regarding continued employment for the following year. 

 

Timesheets must be submitted to payroll weekly.  Enrollment in direct deposit is required.
